About Futures Trading

2008 and 2009 represent tough times for share markets investors. The offshoot of the extreme volatility is many people are now looking past the traditional asset classes of property and equities. People are now looking at alternatives that provide diversification, liquidity and of course the opportunity to profit.

Seasonal Spread Trading?

This type of trading is well known to many professional traders and used by many of them. However, these pros don't go around publicising what they do and therefore this trading method has pretty much remain under wraps.

In the following group of four lessons, we take you through the basics of futures trading and spread trading. We start out with what are futures contracts. Then we get into spread trading and how this works.

From there we look at the concept of seasonality and finally we tie it all together with a look at how the ProTrader Digest site comes up with trading ideas.

This lesson introduces the concept of 'seasonality' and how it plays a very important part in trading. It's interesting stuff!
