Below are some examples of spread trading in action. All trading ideas are set out in the simple format that includes:New trade screen

Note these are actual examples not just good looking trades captured with hindsight.

 

  NEW TRADE: Cotton October 5th, 2008
This seasonal trade has been profitable 13 times in the last 15 years – a success rate of 87%. Over this time, the trade has averaged a profit of around $890.
  NEW TRADE: Eurodollars August 31st, 2008
Here is an example of another trade that has a high probability of profit - an 87% probability in fact. The trade was based on seasonal data but worked very well thanks to the subsequent market meltdown. The trade returned almost 6% in just a couple of weeks.
  NEW TRADE: S&P500 options August 25th, 2008
Here is a typical option trade for the ProTrader Digest. It involves a credit call spread and a credit put spread in the S&P500 futures options. The trade has fixed maximum risk and a high probability of reward. The end result was a gain of about 2.9% in a few weeks. Remember, for those new to options and futures trading, full training and support is provided.
  NEW TRADE: Cattle June 15th, 2008
This spread had been rather volatile thanks to the sell-off seen in Feeder Cattle. The sell-off however set this spread up for a good rebound – a move that was would be in line with season stats and fundamentals. The end result was a gain of over 7%.    
  NEW TRADE: Natural Gas June 15th, 2008
Natural Gas spread trades tend to be a bit tricky, but this one was ripe for a strong move higher starting from mid June into late July. Based on the last 15 years of data, this one has a 100% success rate.
